Matthew 26:28<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

28 <\/sup>This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 6: 9 – 15<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

9 <\/sup>\u201cThis, then, is how you should pray:<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 <\/sup>your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
11 <\/sup>Give us today our daily bread.
12 <\/sup>And forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 <\/sup>And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from the evil one.\u2019<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 <\/sup>For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 <\/sup>But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 9: 1 – 8<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

9 <\/strong>Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2 <\/sup>Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, \u201cTake heart, son; your sins are forgiven.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 <\/sup>At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, \u201cThis fellow is blaspheming!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 <\/sup>Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, \u201cWhy do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 <\/sup>Which is easier: to say, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Get up and walk\u2019? 6 <\/sup>But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.\u201d <\/mark>So he said to the paralyzed man, \u201cGet up, take your mat and go home.\u201d<\/mark> 7 <\/sup>Then the man got up and went home. 8 <\/sup>When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 12: 31 – 32<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

31 <\/sup>And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 <\/sup>Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew 18: 21 – 35<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

21 <\/sup>Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, \u201cLord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

22 <\/sup>Jesus answered, \u201cI tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

23 <\/sup>\u201cTherefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 <\/sup>As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. 25 <\/sup>Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

26 <\/sup>\u201cAt this the servant fell on his knees before him. \u2018Be patient with me,\u2019 he begged, \u2018and I will pay back everything.\u2019 27 <\/sup>The servant\u2019s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

28 <\/sup>\u201cBut when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins. He grabbed him and began to choke him. \u2018Pay back what you owe me!\u2019 he demanded.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

29 <\/sup>\u201cHis fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, \u2018Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.\u2019<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

30 <\/sup>\u201cBut he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 <\/sup>When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

32 <\/sup>\u201cThen the master called the servant in. \u2018You wicked servant,\u2019 he said, \u2018I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 <\/sup>Shouldn\u2019t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?\u2019 34 <\/sup>In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

35 <\/sup>\u201cThis is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 2: 3 – 12<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

3\u00a0<\/sup>Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man,\u00a0carried by four of them.\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup>Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on.\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup>When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man,\u00a0\u201cSon, your sins are forgiven.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

6 <\/sup>Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7 <\/sup>\u201cWhy does this fellow talk like that? He\u2019s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them,\u00a0\u201cWhy are you thinking these things?\u00a09\u00a0<\/sup>Which is easier: to say to this paralyzed man, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Get up, take your mat and walk\u2019?\u00a010\u00a0<\/sup>But I want you to know that the Son of Man\u00a0has authority on earth to forgive sins.\u201d\u00a0<\/mark>So he said to the man,\u00a01<\/sup>1\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.\u201d\u00a0<\/mark>12\u00a0<\/sup>He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God,\u00a0saying, \u201cWe have never seen anything like this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 3: 28 – 29<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

28\u00a0<\/sup>Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter,\u00a029\u00a0<\/sup>but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark 11: 24 – 25<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

24\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.\u00a025\u00a0<\/sup>And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.\u201d\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 5: 18 – 26<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

18 <\/sup>Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 <\/sup>When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20\u00a0<\/sup>When Jesus saw their faith, he said,\u00a0\u201cFriend, your sins are forgiven.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

21 <\/sup>The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, \u201cWho is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

22\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked,\u00a0\u201cWhy are you thinking these things in your hearts?\u00a023\u00a0<\/sup>Which is easier: to say, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Get up and walk\u2019?\u00a024\u00a0<\/sup>But I want you to know that the Son of Man\u00a0has authority on earth to forgive sins.\u201d<\/mark>\u00a0So he said to the paralyzed man,\u00a0\u201cI tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.\u201d<\/mark>\u00a025\u00a0<\/sup>Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.\u00a026\u00a0<\/sup>Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God.\u00a0They were filled with awe and said, \u201cWe have seen remarkable things today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 6: 9 – 37<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

9\u00a0<\/sup>If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.\u00a030\u00a0<\/sup>Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.\u00a031\u00a0<\/sup>Do to others as you would have them do to you.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

32\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cIf you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?\u00a0Even sinners love those who love them.\u00a033\u00a0<\/sup>And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that.\u00a034\u00a0<\/sup>And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?\u00a0Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.\u00a035\u00a0<\/sup>But love your enemies, do good to them,\u00a0and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children\u00a0of the Most High,\u00a0because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.\u00a036\u00a0<\/sup>Be merciful,\u00a0just as your Father\u00a0is merciful.<\/mark> 37\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cDo not judge, and you will not be judged.\u00a0Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.\u00a0<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 7: 36 – 50<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

36 <\/sup>When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee\u2019s house and reclined at the table. 37 <\/sup>A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee\u2019s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 <\/sup>As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

39 <\/sup>When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, \u201cIf this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is\u2014that she is a sinner.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

40\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus answered him,\u00a0\u201cSimon, I have something to tell you.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTell me, teacher,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

41\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cTwo people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,[c<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0and the other fifty.\u00a042\u00a0<\/sup>Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

43 <\/sup>Simon replied, \u201cI suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have judged correctly,\u201d\u00a0<\/mark>Jesus said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

44\u00a0<\/sup>Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon,\u00a0\u201cDo you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet,\u00a0but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.\u00a045\u00a0<\/sup>You did not give me a kiss,\u00a0but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.\u00a046\u00a0<\/sup>You did not put oil on my head,\u00a0but she has poured perfume on my feet.\u00a047\u00a0<\/sup>Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven\u2014as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

48\u00a0<\/sup>Then Jesus said to her,\u00a0\u201cYour sins are forgiven.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

49 <\/sup>The other guests began to say among themselves, \u201cWho is this who even forgives sins?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

50\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said to the woman,\u00a0\u201cYour faith has saved you;\u00a0go in peace.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 11: 2 – 4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

2\u00a0<\/sup>He said to them,\u00a0\u201cWhen you pray, say:<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Father,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom\u00a0come.
3\u00a0<\/sup>Give us each day our daily bread.
4\u00a0<\/sup>Forgive us our sins,
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 12: 10<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

10\u00a0<\/sup>And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man\u00a0will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 17: 1 – 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus said to his disciples:\u00a0\u201cThings that cause people to stumble\u00a0are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup>It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones\u00a0to stumble.\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup>So watch yourselves.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf your brother or sister\u00a0sins against you, rebuke them;\u00a0and if they repent, forgive them.\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup>Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying \u2018I repent,\u2019 you must forgive them.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke 23: 32- 34<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

32\u00a0<\/sup>Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.\u00a033\u00a0<\/sup>When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals\u2014one on his right, the other on his left.\u00a034\u00a0<\/sup>Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cFather,\u00a0forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

John 20: 19 – 23<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

19\u00a0<\/sup>On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders,\u00a0Jesus came and stood among them and said,\u00a0\u201cPeace\u00a0be with you!\u201d<\/mark>\u00a020\u00a0<\/sup>After he said this, he showed them his hands and side.\u00a0The disciples were overjoyed\u00a0when they saw the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21\u00a0<\/sup>Again Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cPeace be with you!\u00a0As the Father has sent me,\u00a0I am sending you.\u201d<\/mark>\u00a022\u00a0<\/sup>And with that he breathed on them and said,\u00a0\u201cReceive the Holy Spirit.\u00a023\u00a0<\/sup>If you forgive anyone\u2019s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.\u201d<\/mark><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
